Welcome to the Lucky Travelers! We are Caitlin, Julia, Molly, and Elise. A family of four, including two young kids, who love traveling the world.
Traveling as a family is a passion for us. We travel as much as we can, and we call ourselves the lucky travelers because we feel so lucky to be able to travel with our kids as frequently as we do. In 2019 alone we’ve traveled out of state at least once every three weeks since January, with four more trips planned through the end of the year. Friends and strangers alike are often asking us about our travels, specifically how we can afford to travel the amount we do and how we manage it with two young children.

Of course, in reality luck has nothing to do with it. We first like to emphasize that you do not need to be wealthy to travel well and often. Traveling is a priority for us, and we make a lot of our big financial decisions with this in mind. We always try to find strategic trade-offs that allow us to do more of what we love. The other crucial thing is that we are experts at travel hacking, which allows us to do more with less, and in some cases travel for free. When it comes to traveling, we make our own luck.
While traveling with our kids we have gained a lot of experience, strategies, and ideas over the years that allow us to travel with greater ease. We did not want to stop traveling when our children were born, and in fact have become more motivated to travel now that we have kids because we want to show them the world and enjoy more quality time together while they’re still little. Our kids are six and three and so far they have been to 13 different countries, many of them multiple times. We have learned a lot about traveling with kids just through trial and error, and have previously struggled to find the kinds of details and advice we needed when traveling abroad with our kids. We want to use this site to share our stories and lessons learned to help you be more confident and informed when you travel, especially with children!

On this website we are going to share not only how we are able to travel like we do, but how you can do so as well. We hope you will follow along on our adventures, and we hope we can inspire you to travel and take more adventures on your own.
We are not blogging about our lifestyle, we are sharing information to help others who may enjoy traveling as much as we do.
On this blog we will share:
- Our travel adventures
- Travel tips, especially for families
- How we’ve reduced or eliminated our travel costs, and how you can too (travel hacking)
- Guides, supplements, and ideas to help you successfully travel with your family
